The 24 and 25th of August brought the National Landcare Network (NLN) together for their quarterly meeting in Darwin. The Network was hosted by newly established peak body for Landcare in the Territory, “Landcare NT”.
Each meeting brings the NLN to a different state or territory with the aim of being able to interact with the local Landcare communities across the country.
They were not disappointed in the Territory with an excursion early Sunday morning to visit the energetic Friends of Fogg Dam and McMinn’s Lagoon Landcare groups. Hearing from grassroots Landcarers such as these gives NLN members an understanding of how different groups operate throughout Australia. Thank you to Heather Boulden, President of the Friends of Fogg Dam and her team for their presentation and tour of the site, as well as Brian McWilliam, president of McMinns Lagoon for his presentation and letting us experience the peace of McMinns Lagoon.
