National Landcare Network’s 2024 AGM and New Board Members

Nov 27, 2024

The National Landcare Network held our Annual General Meeting last Friday 22 November via Teams, with 18 attendees from across all states and territories.

We warmly welcomed the following newly elected members to our Board of Directors:

Peter Voller (Tasmania) – Peter has a lifelong connection to Landcare as a community and land management movement. He was awarded the Public Service Medal in the Order of Australia in 2001 for services to vegetation management in Queensland. He and his wife run a small grazing and nature conservation property north of Launceston.

Mick Davis (Western Australia) – Mick is an active member of the Friends of Upper Lesmurdie Falls and has broad experience in Landcare through a number of roles including his current role as Regional Landcare Facilitator with the Peel Harvey Catchment Council.  Working in the cross-cultural space, Mick uses his extensive ecological knowledge, program management skills and community engagement experience to deliver high quality social and environmental projects for the community.

Andy Kenyon (Northern Territory) – Andy is passionate about protecting the desert environment for future generations to understand, respect, and enjoy. Andy has a background in natural resource management and community development, both in Australia and internationally. In the NT he has worked with First Nations peoples on caring for country, land rights and Native Title. He is currently studying groundwater science in order to better understand and advocate for groundwater, our most precious asset.

We also welcomed Steve Bunnell to the role of Chair, and Dr. Maxine Cooper retained the role of Vice-Chair.

Britt Guy has joined the Members’ Council, taking the place of Emily Raso as representative for the NT, and Lara Tilbrook, former Chair representing SA has also stepped down. We are grateful for their support, dedication and ongoing contributions.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Bill Harvey (Tasmania), Anne Maree Andrews (NT) and former Chair Louise Duxbury (WA) who have stepped down, and we thank them for their dedication and many contributions over their respective tenures.
