Early Bird Registrations now open for the 2025 National Landcare Conference at a discounted price! The National Landcare Conference is Australia’s largest knowledge-sharing and networking Landcare event and will be happening Sunday, 21 September to Wednesday, 24 September 2025 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland.

The National Landcare Network has welcomed Kim Boswell to the team, as Volunteer Landcare Facilitator, bringing extensive experience in both local and global community engagement and Landcare. Kim will be working alongside Jen Quealy to support states and territories in increasing volunteer participation in Landcare activities and to assist in building meaningful partnerships and facilitating knowledge exchange across the diverse network of Landcare communities.

The National Landcare Network held our Annual General Meeting last Friday 22 November via Teams, with individuals in attendance from across all states and territories. We warmly welcomed newly elected members to our Board of Directors.

As part of the National Landcare Facilitator Program also known as the Strengthen Landcare – Deliver Nature Repair Program, the NLN held its inaugural First Nations Community of Practice (CoP) meeting on September 17th, via zoom.

NLN Acting CEO Darryl Ebenezer and Watergum CEO Rosalinde-Green Brinkman attended the first steering committee meeting this week for the 2025 National Landcare Conference being held in Gold Coast (21 – 24 September, 2025). The committee are in the early planning stages and now inviting feedback through a survey about what people would like to see in this year’s program.

A fantastic panel discussion recorded at Garma festival this August, with former CEO of Aboriginal Lands Trust and supporter of Landcare, John Chester, talking about Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) and how ICIP principles keep culture strong.

Applications are now open for the $40.3 million Long-term Trials of Drought Resilient Farming Practices round 2. The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry have expanded eligible industries to include cereal, broadacre crops, horticulture, and livestock. Applications close 19 November, 2024.
