It’s Landcare Week! (L.I.F.E. – Landcare Is For Everyone) – 4-10 August

Aug 4, 2025

Happy Landcare Week everyone! The annual Landcare Week campaign hosted by Landcare Australia in partnership with the National Landcare Network and the State and Territory Landcare peak bodies, acknowledges all Australians who are actively working to restore, enhance, and protect their local natural environment.

This year’s campaign theme – Landcare Is For Everyone (L.I.F.E) – promotes the inclusivity and diversity of landcare volunteers and their projects across Australia. It’s an opportunity for us to recognise their contribution to caring for our soils, land, waterways, coasts, plants, animals, and landscapes.

From people involved in conservation land management, sustainable agriculture, Cultural land management, to the next generation of landcare leaders, the Landcare Week campaign acknowledges the thousands of volunteers who take action to care for the environment. Whether you’re passionate about protecting our waterways, restoring bushland, or growing local food, there are amazing opportunities to get involved and make a real impact.

Share Your Landcare Story

Help amplify the movement by posting your landcare experiences on social media. Tag @NationalLandcareNetwork and use this year’s theme, L.I.F.E. (Landcare Is For Everyone), to encourage others to join in. You can also access and share these branded assets to spread the word. Find them here.

Get Creative!

Got a photo that captures the heart of landcare? We’re calling for submissions that showcase the spirit of our landscapes, communities, and biodiversity. Your image—be it native wildlife, a thriving bushland, a local event, or a sustainable ag project—might be featured at the 2025 National Landcare Conference and shared during Landcare Week celebrations. And here’s a bonus: your landcare group could win a Milwaukee Chainsaw to support weed management work. Photo submissions close: 1 August 2025. Submit your photo here.

Connect With Your Local Landcare Group

Joining your local Landcare group is a great way to care for the environment while connecting with your community. You’ll help restore habitats, plant trees, and protect native wildlife—all while learning new skills and making friends. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, landcare offers support and a sense of purpose. Get involved and grow something meaningful! Find your local landcare group here.
