Landcare NSW Launches Scholarship Program to Empower Local Leaders

Dec 2, 2025

A key role of the National Landcare Network’s state and territory peak bodies is to strengthen the capacity of leaders and volunteers across the movement. A shining example of this commitment is Landcare NSW’s new Scholarship Program, delivered through the their Shared Services Hub to support both emerging and established Landcare leaders across the state.

The Scholarship provides recipients with the opportunity to complete a selected course through the Australian Institute of Management, equipping them with skills to lead, manage, and inspire their communities. Landcare NSW is proud to introduce the three inaugural 2025 recipients: Robyn Camozzato, Helen Rubeli, and Sarah Theakston.

  • Robyn Camozzato (Hastings Landcare) will undertake a Certificate IV in Project Management.

“Growing up on the land I have always had a strong connection and desire to look after it,” Robyn says. “I love being in a role where I can bring community together in caring for our environment. I felt this course would help me to better support our Landcare groups.”

  • Helen Rubeli (RASO Hunter Region Landcare Network) will complete a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.

“I think being part of and strengthening Landcare is one of the most hopeful things we can do in these times,” Helen reflects. “. I am dedicated to working with the team to help communities value and restore biodiversity. My dream is for future generations to see flocks of Regent Honeyeaters in the skies, as in past times.”

  • Sarah Theakston (RASO Western Landcare NSW) has chosen a Certificate IV in Human Resources Management. Living in Western NSW since 2000, Sarah values her close-knit community and applied for the Scholarship to build her skills and confidence, helping strengthen Western Landcare NSW’s ability to support its people.

Congratulations to Robyn, Helen, and Sarah — we wish them every success in their studies and future leadership journeys!

This initiative is made possible through the NSW Landcare Enabling Program, a collaboration between Local Land Services and Landcare NSW, supported by the NSW Government.
