National Landcare Network Bids Farewell

The National Landcare Network (NLN) would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to four incredible individuals whose leadership and dedication have profoundly shaped our organisation. Jim Adams, Jess Dickson, Kristin den Exter, and Rosie Rayns have moved on from the NLN, leaving behind a legacy of impactful work and achievements.

Jim Adams, who was our CEO for an impressive 9.5 years, guided NLN’s strategic direction and growth with vision and steadfast dedication. He played a key role in laying a strong foundation for the National Landcare Network.

With the growth of the organisation, Jim brought on Jess Dickson as Executive Officer. During her five years in the role she worked closely with the CEO to support relationships with the NLN members and with the Federal government that ensured the successful undertaking of NLN’s activities.

“Much of the work undertaken to build an organisation is unseen. It is the commitment to relationships, the building of trust and being a reliable partner and deliverer that underpinned the approach by all NLN staff. This steady work over time has left the Network in a much stronger position than a decade ago with greater capacity to engage our extensive community of more than 260,000 landcarers across Australia through our members groups in each State and Territory,” said NLN Chair Louise Duxbury.

The reach of the Network was significantly boosted during the special project that brought the networking skills of Kristin den Exter to the task of Partnerships Manager over four years. Her ability to forge meaningful partnerships has been crucial in advancing NLN’s mission, and her leadership has been instrumental in the development of the Network leaving a strong lasting foundation for the impactful work of the NLN.

As part of the Network’s growth Rosie Rayns took up the role of Communications and Marketing Manager bringing a fresh and dynamic approach to our outreach efforts. During her year with the Network she established innovative strategies significantly boosting NLN’s visibility and community engagement.

“The Network is now in its next stage of growth after a transition period with some uncertainty around funding. With the securing of funding for the coming more than four years we are now in a better position than ever to support the ambitions of landcarers across Australia. As they embark on new endeavours, we want to express our profound appreciation for Jim Adams, Jess Dickson, Kristin den Exter, and Rosie Rayns. Their contributions have left an indelible mark, and their legacy will continue to inspire and guide NLN’s future activities.

“We acknowledge the incredible work this exceptional team has undertaken and we are now looking forward with new programs in hand to take their legacy forward,” said Louise.
