Join us for a thoughtful discussion on the mental health impacts of climate change - and how we can support one another and build resilience in the face of growing climate challenges. Climate change is putting serious strain on our mental health. Extreme weather events like bushfires, floods, and heatwaves are becoming more frequent and intense, affecting people across Australia and adding pressure to an already stretched health system. The mental toll comes not only from direct impacts but also from ongoing worry about the future. Constant exposure to distressing news can cause anxiety, grief, and hopelessness. These events can lead to serious mental health issues - notably for children and young people, but also for anyone impacted by our changed climate - including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use. This webinar will explore these complex issues and consider ways to care for our mental health - and each other - amid the growing realities of climate disruption.

For our next webinar, agronomist and farmer Cam Nicholson will take you through a new, simple calculator from Agricultural Innovation Australia (AIA) and will give you a step-by-step guide to calculating your on-farm emissions. Cam will be joined by landcarers and farmers, who will share their experience and tips for calculating their on-farm emissions. Their learnings and productivity gains may surprise you. Calculating your on-farm emissions can seem daunting. But knowing your number is the first step in considering how your farm can be sustainable in years to come. Much work on human–wildlife conflict focuses on safeguarding wildlife from humans and vice versa, protecting humans, their crops, livestock and property from wildlife, and mitigating negative, sometimes lethal encounters, instilling the notion of humans and wild animals as adversaries. This conflict has been perceived as the norm, with coexistence a distant ideal. This way of seeing ignores the many ways people have coexisted with wildlife and co-adapted with wild animals in multispecies landscapes for generations. Join us as we explore how greater attention to Indigenous and traditional experiences and knowledge, and paying attention to coexistence, can reshape an understanding of human-wildlife interactions that decenter humans to actively support ethical conservation.
